Believe in your Faith!!!

Hi Everyone,

Thought I would add a post completely out of the norm, but I believe a nice change. Sometime amongst the business of life we forget to stop, take a deep breath and have faith that things will get better when we hit a bump in the road or to simply be in the moment of those joyous memories that seem to fly by.

Our Faith keeps us strong when we feel like we cant push another day, have hope, faith, love and happiness! The best part is surrounding us with those who charge our batteries and not drain them.

I love to sit down at night when all is quite and enjoy the moment with a warm cup of tea and reflect and give thanks to those in my life who make me a better person each day and who give me the strength I need on the days I feel spent.

I give thanks to all I have and the little things like the sunshine, water, food and clothes on our back, for sometimes it is easy to forget…

How do you give thanks and keep your spirits high when sometimes you may feel knocked down???

Wishing everyone a wonderful night filled with Health, Love and Happiness :)

Easter Nests

Hello Everyone, hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful sunshine and such a blessed day and weekend.

Sharing another fun Easter project! If you are in a crunch and want a cute, quick and simple dessert for guests here is simple chocolate easter nests.

I used semi-sweet chocolate wafers and used coconut, and almonds to make the shape of the nest and of course mini eggs for the topping.

Melt chocolate in your microwave  and once melted mix coconut and nuts together(you can use just coconut for this project). Using a muffin tray press the mixture into each cup and add the mini eggs to the top of the nest and place in the fridge to allow the chocolate to harden.

That’s it!!! Pop out of the tray after about 15 minutes and your set, a quick and easy easter dessert that everyone is sure to love :)

Happy Baking.

Purse Cake

Its been a while since I had designed a cake, and decided to jump back on the bandwagon and was a bit rusty, but had so much fun making this cake.

This cake was made for my moms birthday, she is such an amazing women and an inspiration! She has such great style that I had to try making a purse cake.

I had to make a support system in the middle of the cake to stop it from caving and thanks to My Cake School I got great tips on how to do this. If you are new or even experienced to baking and designing and are looking for inspiration and tips and techniques this is a great place to look.

I used Wilton Fondant for the entire cake and straps so that they were moveable, the fondant is white so I used their icing colouring to add colour to the purse. Wilton Gumpaste was used for the hardware of the purse, again it is white and I wanted a gold colour with some shimmer so I used Wilton Gold Colour Mist.

Makeup was made with gumpaste and again colour was added using icing colouring.

Thanks for checking out our blog. Happy Baking :)

Valentine Gift Bags

Customizing gift bags is a fun way to add your own personal flare to any holiday or special occassion. I used the K&Company designer valentine papers by Kelly Panacci, and cut the paper to size. You can use any kraft or plain white bags for this project, which can be found at Michaels or Walmart.

From there add your own flare using scrap ribbon on the handle, foam hearts, glitter, or any other details you would like.

Felt Envelopes

It has been a while since we updated our recent projects so I will have a few to add today.

The first are felt valentine envelopes. My inspiration came from the Nest of Blessed Posies. I went to our local fabric land and picked up some felt in red and pink. I used my singer sewing machine and tried a few different stitch styles, and used K&Company stickers for the buttons and used permanent stitch glue to fasten them down. I gave them to friends and family and stuffed them with chocolate kisses, but other great options could be lip balm, money, candy, etc.

This project was so much fun and great thing is that it could be customized to any holiday. If you have any questions regarding this project please let me know.

Happy New Year!

We are sorry for the delay with our post but we still wanted to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year, and lots of Health, Happiness, Love and Laughter for the New Year. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays and getting the kids back to school I am sure everyone is starting to work on their new years resolutions and new years projects, especially valentines day.

I know many resolutions revolve around getting organized, its is extremely important for paper crafting as it allows for creative inspirations, a good flow when working on your projects and its less overwhelming.

There are many great tools and storage options out there to help you get organized, especially for our rubber and clear stamps. Inque Boutique had a great CD Case to hold clear stamps and even comes with the items necessary to convert stamps.

There are many great promotions usually in the month of January, so now is a perfect time to check out your local craft store for storage and organization products.

Happy Crafting Everyone :)

Let it Snow!!!

I am sure everyone is busy crafting for the holidays, here are a few cards I have made and I hope you like them and the will bring some inspiration. The images where created using Stampendous Stamps, Embossing Powder, and Fun Flock which add great dimension to any project. Also the base of the cards are using DCWV prepackged cards. Other embellishments like vellum, ribbon and jewels where added for extra detail.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

With Christmas around the corner everyone is busy getting ready for all the fun treats they will be making, not only for sharing but they make great gifts. My Favourite is cookies!!!

Its sometimes hard to find a great chocolate chip recipe, but when you do hang on to it. The Hershey’s Recipe is my favourite, always makes super chewy cookies that everyone loves. Check out the recipe on their website.

I find for newer ovens if you like a chewy cookies you only need about 8 minutes on the bottome rack, if you want a more crunchier cookie than leave it in for 10-12 minutes.

Happy Baking :)
